It is understandable that teachers fiercely defend their autonomy to design and implement curriculum their own way and they see generic, prescribed curriculum as deskilling. However, it is also undeniable that teachers are under an immense workload- finding and creating resources and planning units and lessons is very time consuming. I will report on a four year program at my school where we created generic flipped resources that were used to teach 13 Year 9 classes per year. The initiative supported early career teachers to develop their pedagogical content knowledge and pedagogical skills and introduced experienced teachers to flipped learning.
